Rhythm- Elowyn Delaney

This is Elowyn "Ellie" Delaney (later Blues) aka Canto Rhythm, the tall, shy, awkward "motorhead" of the two. This picture started as a series of images I had of what the opening theme would look like and was trying to come up with introductory scenes for our heroines. What better way to be introduced to Ellie than to have her doing one of her favorite things, working on cars? I studied mulitple pictures of Dan Akroyd to get her face as acurate as possible, though as she's not only female but anime-ish, it's naturally not going to be exact.

There are a couple of interesting notes about this picture. When trying to come up with a design for her, I figured that out of the two, Ellie would be most likely to wear her hair kind of long, so she ended up with two very low ponytails (you can't see one since her arm's in the way.) Also, I knew she had to have an ahoge or "idiot hair," and again, you can't really see it because of her hand, but she has one. Lastly, seeing as how she's growing up in a Catholic Orphanage, I decided to give her a crucifix necklace (since I don't see J.J. wearing it- jewelry gets in the way when you pick fights with people.) Also, this only took one sitting- Ellie was a very, very cooperative subject.

EDIT 2/22/12 Added final, colored product. I'm more pleased with the way this scanned than I am with J.J.'s, but even so, it's not as good as the acutal picture. The colors are a lot less vibrant, and the scanner ate the shading on her shirt as well.
